It is the beginning of the year and we are filled with hopes, dreams, fears, and concerns for what lies ahead.
Many of us have themes for the year and we focus on new ways of being. We may want to be more patient, calm, joyful, balanced or _________.
Whatever we believe is important to be our best or benefit others, it is essential that we are clear on:
- Why we want to engage in this behavior;
- What it looks like; and
- Steps we can take to begin.
And when you backslide, don’t berate yourself. Be gentle and begin again. You don’t have to do a 180-degree move, like a boat, a 5-degree shift will take you to a different place.
And remember, for any movement to occur, we need to both be and do things differently.
