Last week I had the privilege and honor of seeing both Bob Woodruff, the ABC news correspondent who was injured in Iraq, and a victim of domestic violence speak at a luncheon for a domestic violence shelter.
I was moved and inspired as the audience came to its feet in tears after the “victim” told her story.
She, however, is a hero. She is a leader. So, too, is Bob Woodruff. Both have shown courage, authenticity, a willingness to speak out with passion, an ability to ask for help and hope for the future.
They share their stories with a desire to inspire change. Their commitment and genuineness are palpable. Adversity can become a catalyst for change. By exhibiting the leadership qualities that these two people have shown, anything is possible!
