Last week I took my taxes to the post office. I felt a sense of relief and release as I handed them to the postal carrier behind the counter.
My accountant had mailed them to me a month ago. All they needed was my signature. I had let them sit for several weeks before taking action. The April 15th deadline and my desire to avoid the line of procrastinators at the post office motivated me to move.
What do you want to do that you are avoiding? When we put things off, they take on a life of their own. The project becomes very big and we dread it. We begin to relate to that story rather than the actual reality of the task.
Getting in motion creates a release. The air pops out of the balloon. We feel a sense of accomplishment. Instead of dreading April 15th, use it as a gift to move you to action in your life. It will last a lot longer than a refund!
