I saw a champion juggler last week. He was very talented and juggled seven balls at one point. As good as he was, he dropped a ball, kept going and tried again.
At this time of year, many of us feel like jugglers. There is so much to do between end of year project wrap ups, shopping, parties and seeing friends and family.
As a good juggler knows, the key is focus. Focus on one priority at a time. Lessen your to do list.
It is easier to successfully juggle three items rather than seven. My clients who reduce their to do lists have larger done lists and feel successful and energized. Prioritizing the list helps you focus on what is essential.
Even when we prioritize and focus, balls will drop and things might be left undone. (Don’t let it leave you undone!). Keep going and celebrate what is getting accomplished.
As focused as the juggler was, it was clear he was having fun. This is another skill good jugglers possess and one we should keep in mind as we juggle our way through the holidays.
Enjoy the season in these final weeks. We have a limited number of them in our lifetime.
