If you watched the Royal Wedding you were among the 20+ million who did. If you did not, you have likely seen a picture or two of the happy couple on TV, a newspaper cover or the internet.
The British know how to celebrate an event with pomp and pageantry. This event was precisely prepared for months. Part of the day’s success was a result of meticulous planning. Adding to the success was the joy of the couple, their families and an entire nation.
Other Royal Weddings have been beautifully orchestrated. Unfortunately many have not lasted. Creating sustainability after the initial excitement of an event can be challenging.
Launching a new product, developing a fundraising event, sharing a vision or starting in a new role are all examples when our enthusiasm is strong initially and can wane. Knowing how to keep the momentum is invaluable.
How do you sustain the initial passion? Who do you enroll as allies? What connects you back to the feeling?
We all feel the burst of joy and happiness with the promise of a new beginning for which we have dreamed. Keeping the spark alive is where the real magic lies.
