I went to see an exhibit of Annie Liebowitz photographs on Sunday.
The way she captures her subjects and the creativity she shows when designing a photo are inspiring.
She frames the shot so it captures the essence of the subject while putting other parts of the photo in perspective. She has an ability to focus your eye on the subject while blurring the background in some instances or positioning the subject to the right or left of center surrounded by interesting objects at other times.
The exhibit made me think how we frame our lives. As you tell your stories,
- What are you focusing on?
- Who and what do you include in the shot?
- What do you blur as background and what do you highlight?
- How much artistic license are you taking?
The lens through which we tell our stories and the subjects on which we focus convey our perspective.
If you were creating an exhibit of your days, what would be your favorite pictures and how would you frame them?
