The Oscar winning best picture, Birdman, shows how an out of work actor’s voice planted seeds of doubt in his mind, much like we all experience.
Birdman and another real life person bring to mind how limiting beliefs impact us.
The other person is an 80 year old woman who stunned and delighted the audience on Britain’s Got Talent when she and her much younger partner danced in an amazing performance. She showed that age is a state of mind.
We limit ourselves in many ways. We often do so by questioning if we are good enough or know enough to take on a new project. The desire for perfection can also hold us back because we may not attempt something and stretch ourselves if we cannot do it 100{160c7819af59c11da6532971d4da6329afa70521e09652cedd42dbad61fa4f29}.
Time is another way we limit ourselves. We think we have to complete x “in order to” complete y. We put our lives on hold and limit possibilities.
Others’ expectations can also limit us. We don’t take on certain things or engage in certain behaviors because we worry what others might say or think.
While age can be a limiting belief for some of us, our dancer shows that it is a state of mind. How are you limiting yourself? What moves could be possible if you removed some of these beliefs? What new steps will you take?
