Today is Cyber Monday. We have all received numerous emails telling us about the bargains to be had and all of the money we will save. With a few clicks of the mouse, we could shop for everyone on our list.
As we approach this season of joy, peace and occasional stress, I want to invite you to consider your personal SHOPping list. You don’t have to finish it in one day; In fact, it is best to refer to it throughout the season.
Slow down: While this may seem impossible given your many things to do, it will actually allow you to be more productive and enjoy what you’re doing.
Help: Ask for it. You don’t have to go it alone or do it all by yourself. In this season of giving, let others contribute to the plan.
Oxygen: How are you breathing? We know how important breath is to reducing stress and slowing down. Notice yours and how shallow or deep or how fast or slow it is. As you stand in lines, hunt for parking places or realize the meal isn’t turning out Martha Stewartesque, remember how helpful a few deep breaths can be in helping to ground you.
Perspective: Be aware or your perspectives, opinions and judgments about things. Sometimes keeping things in perspective or shifting an existing one can reduce stress or create harmony. Trust me, I speak from experience on this one!
While the retailers would like for you to continue to spend money, this is one SHOPping list that will not cost you anything. In fact, it might save your sanity!
