What does it take to sit in the “C” suite? People often aspire to this place. The truth is, anyone can sit in the “C” suite.
I recently saw Jane Grote Abell, Chairwoman of Donato’s Pizza, speak. She talked about four “C” qualities important for any leader.
| Courage: | Have the ability to speak or act, even when fear arises. |
| Conviction: | Act in accordance with your beliefs and trust yourself, even when you are doubtful or in the minority. |
| Character: | Live your values. Act with integrity to bring them to life. |
| Compassion: | Lead with your heart in addition to your head. Show empathy, understanding and forgiveness. |
When you bring these qualities to your leadership and your life, you can sit in the “C” suite regardless of your title.
