I usually take the same running route and see the same things. It is mindless and relaxing.
However, last week I caught a new view out of the corner of my eye that took my breath away. I turned and ran in an entirely new direction.
How often do we look at a situation through the same lens? We are either mired in it and cannot see a different view or we become numb as things grow routine.
Stepping back or taking a break from focusing on the situation can allow us the space to see something new. I had not been running for a few days. I saw my route with fresh eyes. It led me in a new direction.
When you step back you are not running away. You may actually find a new route.
