Whenever I give a presentation I paste a copy of it on my desktop. This shortcut allows quick, easy and direct access to my goal. I save time searching through files.
How often are we shortcuts? Do we add extra time to a process or outcome because we don’t set a clear vision or expectations? Do we add time because trust, focus or clarity are lacking? Are we too verbose or too indirect? Do we have too much bureaucracy or too few guidelines?
By understanding how we might add time to an outcome we can take steps to eliminate some of the obstacles. We can focus on how best to support the result.
When we start to think of ourselves as being a shortcut, we can reduce frustration, time and cost.
