I have been in the process of moving for the last couple of weeks. I have had to purge files, get rid of outdated cards from a Rolodex (yes, I still had a Rolodex) and give away furniture and clothes that no longer fit me or my lifestyle.
Reviewing what I want to take and what will work in our new place has taken time and energy. I have had to prioritize and make decisions about what will be a good fit and what is the highest and best use for the space.
How often do we do this with our time? Stepping back to get an overview of how we invest our time is both important and valuable.
We often have difficulty prioritizing our highest and best use. What is the optimum thing for us to do in our 24 hours or to forward our goals?
Are you spending time in places that enrich you or in activities that support your values? Is your job or where you live still a good fit for where you are now?
Eliminating and purging items from our to do list can be a challenge along with saying no. We can apply the highest and best use concept here. And making shifts in life situations that reflect where we are now requires soul searching.
Moving means we go from one place to another. We move physically and mentally. We transition. What moves do you want to make regarding your time? I guarantee you will land in a new place when you implement them.
