Cameras are so accessible nowadays that 10{160c7819af59c11da6532971d4da6329afa70521e09652cedd42dbad61fa4f29} of all photographs taken were in the last year. It seems almost everyone has the ability to offer their unique perspective.
I recently saw an exhibit on Photography Through the Digital Age. The exhibit showed how current photographers adapted the medium with digital processing and technology to create new images.
For example, one artist, Denny Griffith, created photographs by using his cell phone to take pictures of other works of art. He created entirely new images. This form of art would not have been possible a decade ago.
Blending the past and present to create a future state is a phenomenon we are all familiar with.
We see it:
- At work where generations work side by side
- When organizations merge and cultures need to work as one
- When new relationships form and collaboration is essential as in partnerships, dorm mates, romantic couples
It is important that we discuss:
- What do we want to honor from the past
- What we want to create for the future
- How we need to collaborate to achieve our goals
When we are curious, open-minded and willing to try new things we can develop new strategies, perspectives and innovations.
Picture that!
